The Heart of Texas Chapter holds 11 meetings a year featuring guest speakers on topics relevant to the members in regards to local items or interest, military and legislative issues, or local public or private citizens in prominent positions. A special entertainment program with live band occurs at the December dinner meeting.

The HOT MOAA chapter supports the MOAA national legislative agenda and we annually invite our Congressional Representative, who is a honorary member, to speak to our chapter. We include legislative updates in the monthly newsletter and will email members on special legislative issues for contact with their elected representatives.

Our chapter provides educational scholarships for undergraduate students who are veterans and/or their dependents, awards for Baylor Army and Air Force cadets and grants for cadets at the five local JROTC units and Civil Air Patrol. We also provide donations to local veteran support organizations and activities.

HOT MOAA participates in local events such as the annual Veterans Day Parade and Memorial Remembrance Ceremony.

We support our scholarship and financial support programs through our yearly golf fundraiser and member donations. In 2025 , our golf fundraiser will be held on Saturday, June 7th at Waco Cottonwood Creek Golf Course. For more information see Golf Fundraiser.

The chapter is also active in supporting the Texas Council of Chapters in various state veterans’ issues. We include legislative updates in the monthly newsletter and will e-mail members on special legislative issues for contact with their elected representatives.
